Summit of China, Central and Eastern Europe
A summit of 16 leaders of Central and Eastern Europe will be held in Belgrade in December, the prime ministers of China and Serbia have agreed. This summit is going to continue the development of Chinese business potentials within CE Europe.
Third Meeting of Heads of Government of China and Central and Eastern European Countries ("Belgrade meeting") will take place in Belgrade December 15-17. Thereupon, Serbia will welcome the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang, who will be the first Chinese Prime Minister to visit Serbia since 1986. Furthermore, business and official delegations of China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries will participate in the Summit at the Palace of Serbia as well as in the debate about burning issues regarding agriculture, industry, tourism, internet technology, transport and infrastructure in the Economic Forum at Sava Center.
The meeting in Belgrade strives to provide the continuation of joint efforts to strengthen cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European countries, that was first initiated three years ago in Budapest, and then continued and deepened during the meetings in Warsaw in April 2012 and Bucharest in November 2013.
A special focus is on improving economic cooperation since there are many great and so far missed opportunities. The Belgrade meeting of the heads of Government of the Central and Eastern Europe will pay special attention to discussing and reaching agreements on specific cooperative projects and investments.
Sixteen Prime Ministers of all participating countries, high-ranking state officials and prominent businessmen are expected to attend, which puts The Belgrade meeting in the level of major events in Europe.
